Olushola Coker - Independent Non-Executive Director
Mrs. Olushola Coker is an entrepreneur with successful businesses in diverse sectors ranging from finance to commodities and education. Olushola is a philanthropist who encourages girls in education and donates to various charitable organisations.
Olushola has a solid foundation in Economics, Business and Finance. She started her banking career in 1988 at the International Merchant Bank as a Junior Officer after which she rose to the position of Assistant Manager and subsequently Manager. She left International Merchant Bank in 1993 to form her own business called Merchant Investments Limited, a Finance house for private and institutional investors which generated a turnover of N150million during the period. She was the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Merchant Investments Limited up until 2002.
Olushola is the owner and founder of Booksville Limited, an educational services company founded in 2002 as a retail and wholesale business for children’s books and educational materials, supplying resources and equipment to top private schools across Nigeria. She also sits on the board of Sunny Motors Ltd.
She holds a B.Sc in Economics from the University of Buckingham and a master's in international business and international financial management from the University of Reading. She has attended various management courses both locally and internationally.
