Africa is particularly vulnerable to climate risks. The continent's exposure to drought, flooding, excessive heat, and tropical cyclones means 30 of the world's most climate-vulnerable nations are in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Moreover, given that 60% of Africa's population works in agriculture, and that agriculture contributes to 16% of the continent's GDP, the sector's disproportionate exposure to climate risk compounds threats to the continents economies and the livelihoods of it's people.
